Ripe aromatics with layers of peach, floral and honeyed notes which mingle with mountain herbs, sweeter mandarin skin and apple note. Generous on the palate with hints of textural ripe gala melon, minerality, and a fresh citrus giving a lively acidity on the finish. The mineral and fruity charcter from the Arantei grapes is balanced by the freshness of the Taboexa grapes. This is a blend of grapes from two estates in the south of DO Rias Baixas in Galicia, north west Spain. Taboexa is a 13ha estate at 300m above sea level, with sandy and granitic soil typical of the region. The Arantei estate is at just 30m above sea level - with clay and pebbly soil. Boutinot Cotes du Rhone - 14% ABV
Typical red berry fruit on the nose underpinned by subtle oaky nuances. Flavours are densely packed, layer upon layer of primary red fruit are refined by smooth oaky subtleties bound up in a finely woven structure. In the long finish the intensity of the vintage shines as the wine ‘grows’ in the glass. ‘Les Coteaux’ is made to relish on release but the finely grained tannins are likely to lend longevity.Common practice in the Côtes du Rhône is to bottle the best cuvées as a single named Village wine and the rest as basic Rhône Villages. Boutinot’s philosophy, on the other hand, is to start with the intention of making the very best Côtes du Rhône Villages possible by sourcing wine from the vineyards of named villages and enriching them with a small proportion of barrel-aged wine from Sablet, Séguret & Cairanne. Boutinot Rhȏne 'Les Coteaux' is therefore a selection of the best Grenache & Syrah from some of the 17 named Côtes du Rhône Villages. Eric Monnin sources wine from a number of growers with exceptional terroir allowing him the flexibility to select only the very best fruit each vintage and reject parcels which do not meet our high standards.
Gavi la Battistina - 12% ABV
Aromatic, zesty nose with apple and lime notes. Textured and gently nutty with savoury characters - the wine is juicy, with weighty fruit and a zippy, citrusy, mouthwatering feel - creating a refreshing, yet satisfying finish.Araldica's La Battistina estate consists of 25 hectares of south facing vineyards, including 5 hectares of 'Gavi del Comune di Gavi', on a unique combination of limestone and clay. This isolated bubble of chalky, mineral soil allows full ripening of the local Cortese grape. Vines average 35 years old, giving complexity and weight to what is becoming one of Italy's most fashionable white wines. The estate is divided into distinct areas producing very different wines. The majority of grapes go to produce the unoaked 'La Battistina', while 'Nuovo Quadro' comes from a small, plot at the foot of the Battistina hill which lies within the Gavi sub-zone.
Uggiano Chianti 'Roccialta' - 13% ABV
Fresh and appealing on the nose with plenty of ripe red fruits and a hint of spice. Fresh and juicy sour cherry characters on the palate, richly-flavoured, with supple and abundant red fruit balanced by vibrant acidity and ripe tannins.Winemaker Giuseppe Losapio founded Azienda Uggiano in the early 1970s, and steadily developed the estate at San Vincenzo a Torri. It is now one of the leading producers in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini zone. With 100 hectares of hillside vineyards (in both Colli Fiorentini and around neighbouring Chianti Classico, near San Casciano), Uggiano produces classic and classy Tuscan reds from the region's principal grape varieties. A core of quality runs through an unfussy, practical and exceptionally well-priced range, from bright entry level Chianti to some impressive Riserva wines. In 2015, the Losapio family sold the company to Uggiano’s young but experienced management team, including commercial manager Giacomo Fossati and Daniele Prosperi, winemaker for the past 12 vintages. The Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes are sourced from Uggiano's vineyards - which stretch over the hillsides joining Montespertoli with Montelupo Fiorentino and San Casciano Val di Pesa.
Nieto Malbec - 14% ABV
Our best loved Malbec is possibly even juicier, freshier and tastier still!. Bright on the nose with ripe blackberry plum fruit and sweet spice. The palate is silky and warming with more black fruit, plums and cherries. The wine is vibrant with an alluring blend of fruit along with clove, pepper and cinnamon spice finished off with well-structured integrated tannins. A great wine with a fresh finish.
